Setting a Standard

Setting a Standard of Clear Moral Absolutes They are growing up in a world that has placed the importance of feelings over decency.

Today's culture assumes that we all have the freedom to create whatever morality is convenient to us.

We have all been affected by the relativism of the culture that surrounds us.

Our grandchildren need to see grandparents who look past the (cultural) storms on the horizon and who see instead a mighty, sovereign God who has everything under control.

Setting a Standard of Well-developed and Balanced Character

Knowing we are not perfect:

We need to model the character trait of contagious faith.

We need to model the character trait of consistent integrity.

We need to model the character trait of practical poise.

We need to model the character trait of personal discipline.

We need to model the character trait of steadfast endurance.

We need to model the character trait of inspirational courage.

Grand words: Multi-culturalism ...
the belief that all cultures are worth of study and of equal value and deserve equal celebration.

Pluralism ...
the belief that all moral religions lead to God.

Moral Relativism ...
the assumption that "right" and "wrong" are subject to personal interpretation and are not based on any absolute standards pre-established by God.

Poise ...
a keen and balanced sense of what is appropriate in any given situation.
