Welcome to my Thomas L Dietsche Home Page! Most people call me Tom (when they're being polite). At work, I'm often just called TLD.

My spouse Laurie Forsberg has a PhD in Composition Theory from the University of Minnesota, where she taught business, technical and professional writing in its English Department. Laurie is an experienced gardener, and has become an expert in green/non-toxic home improvement and cleaning products. She has also been an editor, reporter and photographer for several newspapers, a PR consultant, and an antiques dealer (specializing in Depression era glass).

We live near the Mississippi River in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in the Mac-Groveland neighborhood.

I am VP of Development for Jargon Software, which offers the ForceField line of mobile business apps for sales-order processing, field service, inventory, and inspections. Our apps run on mobile devices such as smart phones, handhelds, tablets, notebooks and others.

Over my career, I have also been involved in the ownership and management of two other software firms, an RV dealership, a mobile home park, a trucking company, a family restaurant and a bus company. Between jobs, I sometimes do a little software consulting.

Since 2015, I have served on the Macalester-Groveland Community Council (MGCC). Currently, I am on the Housing and Land Use Committee, the Community Building Committee, and represent Grid 1 of Mac-Grove on its Board of Directors. Aside from the important work that MGCC does, it has also taught me how to be much more effective in meetings.

When not working or volunteering, I read science fiction and mysteries, work out at the LA Fitness gym at University and Hamline Avenues, play pool, and waste endless hours browsing the web.

I also follow the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. The Twins won two World Series, but I am not sure the Vikings will EVER win a Super Bowl. (They have had their chances!)
