A Jewish style delicatessen with a Minnesota twist. Back in New York, a deli wouldn't serve cream for its coffee or butter for its bread. Non-dairy creamer and margarine were the rule because meat and milk were not to be mixed. Not so at Cecil's, here you can not only get cream and butter, you can get a Pastrami 'n Schmere; a pastrami and cream cheese sandwich, although my tastes turn me toward the Fresser, a sandwich with three meats and plenty of butter. They also have an attached store and bakery which makes the only good Jewish Rye west of the Hudson River. Prices range up to $8.00 per sandwich depending how much meat you want shoveled on.

These Bagels are good. The crust is thick, glossy and crunchy, the bread inside chewy. Bagels can be purchased to go or they can be assembled into a wide variety of sandwiches guaranteed to satisfy carnivore and vegetarian alike. The ambience is trendy and upscale. Sandwiches range from $1.00 to $5.00.
| Fishman's Kosher Market & Deli | (952) 926-5611 |
| 4100 Minnetonka Blvd, St. Louis Park, MN 55416 | |
If you want to eat Kosher, this is where you go. Primarily a kosher market stocked with the stuff of childhood memories for this transplanted New York Jew, they also feature a cafeteria style deli, where you can get heaps of kosher deli meats carved on to your choice of bread, Matzo Ball soup with Matzo Balls of planetary dimensions, and Hot Dogs, served, alas, Chicago Style. So, Go! Essen Gesundheit!

Little Tel Aviv is an Israeli style cafe serving kosher dairy cuisine. Its menu includes a wide range of sandwiches, appetizers, and hot entrees. Walleye and tuna feature prominently in the menu as do vegetarian and dairy entrees. Don't miss their unique blintzes or their decadent desserts.
