WeatherCryl 100% Acrylic Exterior Latex in Eggshell and Flat

Hirshfield’s Professional Premium WeatherCryl is an economically priced, 100% acrylic exterior coating that is ideal for both residential and commercial applications. WeatherCryl is formulated to withstand the harsh effects of our midwest climate. 100% Acrylic WeatherCryl, available in eggshell and flat finishes, can be used on concrete and masonry surfaces, properly primed wood, metal and hardboard, as well as vinyl and aluminum siding and soffits.
Like all of Hirshfield’s Professional Premium coatings and ProWall products, WeatherCryl was designed with the painting contractor in mind. WeatherCryl applies easily by brush, roller or spray. 100% Acrylic WeatherCryl has good hide and film build and provides a durable finish with good resistance to fading, checking, blistering, alkali and chalk.
Quality latex paints hold color better than lower grade latex coatings. One contributing factor to color loss in lower grade paints is a low level of binder relative to the level of pigments and extenders. Paints that are starved for resin don’t adhere well and tend to crack, peel and fade more easily. Hirshfield’s uses higher quality raw materials in our professional grades than comparable major national brands (see below).

WeatherCryl exceeds top national brand in ASTM D 4587-91 exposure testing
Independent lab testing has shown that Hirshfield’s 100% Acrylic WeatherCryl outperformed a leading national brand’s 100% Acrylic flat exterior paint. The test follows ASTM D 4587-91 guidelines for materials tesing of paint coatings. Paint samples are applied to QUV test panels and subjected to severe weathering conditions and corrosion exposure in an accelerated time frame. Areas of the paint are left exposed to these elements and are measured for change with a photo spectrometer after testing is completed. The top panel on the right shows considerable color loss in the comparable leading national brand. The WeatherCryl sample panel (below right) performed significantly better.
