Annals of the Dog-Human Relationship
by Mark Derr
Derr's book is a terrific summation of the status of dogs in modern society. It is a marvelously researched current affairs book, looking at dogs as a social phenomenon. It is more of a "serious" journalistic treatment than Pretty Good Dog, which will have more of an intimate flavor.
