Catharine-I was born in Llanwonno, Glamorgan, Wales, 26 July 1849.

In 1851, she lived in Trehafod, Llanwonno Parish, Glamorgan. In September of that year she sailed to America with her parents.

Catherine died 24 October 1851, at sea, just a few days before the ship arrived in New York.
