Hi. I'm a middle-aged (born 1953) beer-drinking science-fiction-reading
Minnesotan with a family and a house and a cat and about five Macintoshes.
I'm a pretty happy guy (most of the time) because I realize I'm extremely lucky.
I'm a human male technophile and an American of European descent, which puts me in
the top some-small fraction-of-1% of beings in all of history in terms of pure undeserved
advantage.
Plus I've got a computer that can do some really fun stuff like pull information
off computers all over the world, and a car that can go so fast that if I make the
slightest mistake on the way to work it could kill me. I have a lovely wife who takes
excellent care of my truly wonderful although rather messy children, and who despite
our profound political differences actually allows me to have sex with her.
So don't whine to me about what a terrible time & place 20th-century America
is; we're living in a golden age, my friend.
I do prepress graphics for a living on the Macintosh, at a place called Colorhouse
where the management sometimes actually seems to know what they're doing.* **
I'm a Mac addict since 1984. I love AppleScript, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I'm an Internet addict since 1995. I'm a gun nut since 2000. I'm a science fiction addict since grade school. I'm sure my adolescent brain development was profoundly warped by Robert Heinlein. For some good mind-expanding fun, go read anything by:
