Subject: Re: demo code

I have updated the demo code again; there is now something under
every tab. There is still no help on the menu bar yet. I ran
this under Linux and wish4.2 and Windows 95 and wish8.0. It works
both places, although the Windows version doesn't look quite as
good.

Thinking about Jeff's comments may be helpful in that we can get
ideas for how to improve the prototype. Since part of the course
is about process, knowing what improvements we can make before
the meeting with the TA is advantageous.

Having built something that almost works, I can see some places
that need improvement:

1. There is no explicit way to create or delete archives. Jeff's
suggestion about having mailboxes and and archives on one page
where you can create or delete them would be a good way of
doing this. (Archives can be created implicitly if it is known
that there is one archive per mailbox.) It might be possible
to get rid of the mailboxes tab if we do this.

2. It may be appropriate to rearrange the way that filters are
applied. What we have now is workable, but not adequate.
I think I might want to add some radiobuttons to clarify the
views presented.

3. On the filter page, the definition for the fields for subjects
and dates could have browse buttons to their right.

Try out the code if you can. There may be some tinkering I do over
lunch today.

I might be able to do some changes tonight.
