CHARLES MONROE FORD

Charles, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Henry Ford, was born at Wayne Center, Illinois on 11 February 1854.  The family lived on the upland, north of Wayne Center.

 

Charles was married to Marie L. DePew at Bradford, Illinois on 10 February 1876.  The family moved to Iowa, later to Minnesota, and then to Colorado in 1910, about 15 years before his death.  They lived near Kit Carson, CO until 1919, six years before his death and they moved down in the valley in 1922, three years before his death. 

 

Charles died at his home west of Fowler, CO at 3:00 pm on Saturday, 9 January 1925, after a long illness.  He was almost 72 years old.  Charles is buried in the Fowler, Colorado cemetery.

MARGERY GENEVA FORD MABRY

Margery was born on 12 January 1894 in Ames, Iowa.  Her parents were Charles Monroe Ford and Maria DePew.   Margery was married to Leonard Elihu Mabry in Milwaukee, WI.  They moved to a farm near Luck, Polk County, Wisconsin.  Leonard and Marge had six children; Helene, Leonard Jr (“Jack”), Betty, Donald (died in infancy), Joyce and Patricia.  Leonard was a rural mail carrier and retired from this work.  Margery died on 17 March 1971.  She is buried beside her husband and infant son Donald in the Luck Cemetery.
